What a Fun Day was founded by me, Samantha Raney, mother to Bailey (that's her in the photo to my left!) and lover of all things food. I used to cover a range of topics in this space, from fashion to motherhood, but I've recently found a passion in cooking more than anything else (except motherhood, but I don't feel a pull to cover that here at the moment, as I think there are plenty of people out there doing an amazing job covering everything babies). I've decided to focus on sharing only about food, and I couldn't be more excited! Cooking gives me a freedom to use my creativity with reckless abandon. It's like art, except I get to eat the finished piece! Food is the only thing I don't really change my mind on what I like. I try new foods all the time, but always go back to my favorites as well, which is not the case with any of my other interests, so this feels sustainable. Feel free to contact me at any time with any questions, as I love getting into discussions about all things food. Let's get cooking!
- I created a fashion magazine (one issue) when I was probably 11 or 12 out of copy paper and images I had torn out from other magazines! It consisted of the best "splurges" and a few other "sections".
- I grew up in the Ozarks in northwest Arkansas! I didn't appreciate it at the time, but man, that place is gorgeous. Go visit!
- I'm a Leo born on the cusp (the last day of a sign) of Virgo, and that means a lot to me. Astrology is one of my side studies (main ones being Bailey [my three year old], literature, and any and all things food).
