Mom Style: Off Shoulder Blouse

Good morning! I've got a little Mom Style post for you today, and it's featuring the blouse I wear all summer long. Off-shoulder tops just became a thing this year, but I've been loving this one since last summer. It's perfect for when it's too warm outside to be wearing much, but you obviously still have to have a shirt on.

I paired it with jeans here, but it also pairs well with shorts or a skirt. I also added my new favorite mules (see below for details) to give it a summery feel.

You'll find these tops in mostly linen or cotton, seeing that they are strictly a warm weather style blouse. Mine is a white eyelet cotton, and I'm not sure I could get through the summer without it.

Random, but I love this picture, mostly because this is the face I'm making 90% of the time. Just keeping it real over here.

Love these details! I'm very happy that mules are back, and I'm pretty sure it's just because they remind me of Sandy's shoes from the end of Grease. Definitely OK with that.

To Introduce Our Plants - Euphorbia Pulcherrima

The poinsettia (/pɔɪnˈsɛtiə/ or /pɔɪnˈsɛtə/)[1][2] (Euphorbia pulcherrima) is a commercially important plant species of the diverse spurge family. (wikipedia)

Hi there! I have a little back story for you, to kind of explain the context of these posts. Brett is minoring in Plant Sciences in school, so as you can imagine, we have a lot of plants around the house. They fascinate him, along with the growing process. He wants to incorporate growing plants into his Business degree, because he loves it so much. The interesting part for me, is getting to watch him coax the plants into flourishing, and once they have, he makes sure they get enough care to remain alive and beautiful. You'd be hard pressed to find someone more passionate about their plants.

For me, plants and flowers are about as visually pleasing as you could get. I'm the type of person that likes to stare, and I could look at this photo of one of Brett's white poinsettias all day. The poinsettias are still going strong since Brett brought home the 30 he had been growing for two different classes. That's right, 30. Our house was full of them, and for awhile, it was like living in a garden. At a certain point though, I wanted my house back, so we gifted quite a few for Christmas.

The ones that remain are our favorites, including this gorgeous cream colored one. I chose it to photograph specifically because of it's color. We have a couple of crimson ones left and a few peach colored ones, which give me all of the heart eye emojis. I will probably photograph them later, but I really wanted to incorporate the white first, since it gives such a good contrast to the pink back ground. I also love that you can see the green a little through out the leaves, so it makes it less of a holiday flower.

We still have many more plants around the house that aren't poinsettias, so I have decided to make this a monthly series! Learning about our plants from Brett has made me want share their beauty. They really are something, and I can't wait to show you more!

To Rock My Adidas

Hi guys! Normally I'm not one for showing off Christmas presents, or gifts in general. I can't help it with these sneakers though! They are Adidas Superstars and I've been planning outfits around them in my head for the longest time. Now that I have them, be prepared to see a lot of them. This little mini photo shoot, featured here today, was shot like an hour after I opened them, by Kristen. I couldn't wait! I'm a little wary of having to take care of them to keep them white, but I can handle it. All I need is a good shoe protector spray and I'll be set. Until then, I'm refusing to walk in grass or near dirt of any kind.

I know, I'm such an awkward poser. I can do movement pretty well, like dance and tennis, but when it comes to standing still, I fail miserably. My body just doesn't know what to do with itself. Maybe I'll just start doing yoga poses in every photo. Those are my kind of poses.

But really, this is the most excited I've gotten about shoes in a long time. That's really saying something, because I used to be obsessed. Recently though, I've been focusing more actual clothes instead of accessories. It's nice to have you back, shoe obsession!
