Hi guys! I don't know about you, but I like to keep my make up organized. I don't have a ton, so it's not a huge task, but I do have quite a few lipsticks. I saw this plastic organizer and thought I'd give it shot with some air dry clay! It turned out pretty cute, but I do have a few tips to make the end result even better. First, I'd measure out how wide you need your squares to be. Most of my lipstick fit in my organizer, but a couple don't and it's a little annoying. Second, make sure to seal all edges and places where your clay touches with water. I didn't use enough water on one side and had to glue it back on once it dried! Other than that though, the project went pretty smoothly, and I think a little cup to hold my brushes is next on the horizon for my makeup organization system. Get the how-to for the organizer below!
- air dry clay
- a knife
- a rolling pin
Step one - Roll out a ball of clay flat, and slice the edges off to create your base for your organizer.
Step two - Roll out another strip of clay to shape into the sides. When attaching to your base, press touching edges together, and run some water over it with your finger to seal.
Step three - Cut squares out of another flat strip of clay to create your dividers, and attach the same way as the sides. Let dry overnight.
Step four - Paint your organizer whatever color you'd like and enjoy!
