Good morning! As I mentioned on Saturday, my little family and I packed up the car and headed to the lake house for a peaceful evening. It was gorgeous and still, and was just what we needed. The leaves were still on the trees for the most part, and it is finally cold outside in the mornings and evenings, which just made it ideal for a fall getaway. The fog, pictured above, was so intense in the morning that you couldn't even see the actual lake, just a small part of our cove. It was really a sight to see (or not see, depending on how you look at it).
I never travel without a book, especially when it comes to the lake house. I'm currently reading A Million Little Pieces by James Frey, and it's the perfect book to fly through when you actually have the time.
It was so chilly out that I packed my slipper boots to tromp along in for the weekend. They are shearling-lined moccasin booties, and they are a lifesaver for enjoying time outdoors when it's 50 degrees or below.
I also brought out my vintage red flannel coat that I snagged from my older sisters castoffs recently, and realized that it almost exactly matches Bailey's red poncho! Yay for one more thing we can match in!
Getting used to the early sunsets has been a little rough, but with a view like this, I don't mind losing the daylight. Also, the supermoon (which is full tonight, make sure to check it out!) was starting to really glow, and that is a-o.k. with me!
Last, but not least, we were basically obligated to do a fire in the fire pit, now that it's actually appropriately cold outside. Bailey resisted sitting and watching it for awhile, but once she finally gave in, the mesmerizing flames put her to sleep for the night!
Thanks for reading, and have a fun Monday!
