Good morning! Today, I'm sharing a new discovery of mine that is super healthy and nutritious, but also tastes good. It's turmeric! Turmeric is found in Asia, and has been in use for thousands of years, mostly for dye and for its medicinal benefits. Let that mention of dye be a warning. Anything turmeric + liquid touches, it stains, and while the gorgeous Goldenrod color is pretty, most wouldn't want their napkins and shirts splotched with it. You don't have to worry about your mugs or spoons, just any cloth material. Don't get too messy, and you'll be fine!
Back to the turmeric, I decided to give it a try because I can always benefit from anything anti-inflammatory, and lattes are never bad, so this recipe sounded perfect. Turmeric is available at most grocery stores in the spice aisle, so go pick some up and make this delicious drink!
Recipe: yields one Golden Milk latte
- 1 tbsp. of turmeric
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 1 tbsp. of honey
- 1 tsp. of cinnamon
- a pinch of sea salt
Step one - Boil your almond milk over medium heat until bubbling, then whisk in your honey, turmeric, cinnamon, and salt.
Step two - Pour your drink into your favorite mug and serve with something complementary to the cinnamon flavors, like pumpkin spice waffles! Bailey sure loved those. Enjoy!
