On Minimalist Style

Hi guys! Today, I thought I'd share a little bit about my personal style. I like to label it as eclectic minimalism, meaning that the colors and shapes of my clothes are basic and minimal, but I add in little quirks with how I style them and what accessories I use. Most of my clothes are grey, black, and white. I have a few choice pieces in my favorite colors, blush, blue, mustard, and copper. Blue is probably my number one out of those, and the only real reason I can think of as to why, is that it's the best one for my coloring. Also, blue contrasts well with white and grey. Google Santorini, Greece and you'll see how. It's almost like another neutral. Blush and copper are usually my choice for accessories, mainly shoes and jewelry. I love using these hints of color to keep my outfits from being boring or too casual. Those are the main risks with being a minimalist, due to the general lack of shape or color. For me though, that's what balancing any personal style is about. Straddling the line of being too loud and not being loud enough.

Another good point for minimalism is that it keeps one from being excessive. Due to my personality, I am not a multiples type, meaning that if I have a white cotton shirt, it bothers me to have more than one white cotton shirt. I was raised to mostly shop based on need, and rarely on want. Now that I am an adult, I'm pretty happy that I grew up that way, because I see how much more special it is when you genuinely find something you love. I used to shop on whims, and paring down my wardrobe showed me that I don't actually need something new, just because it's slightly different than a piece I already have. I think that's why I was drawn to minimalism in general. I finally woke up and identified my needs instead of my wants. Below, I've featured a few looks that are similar to my own personal style!
