To Bake Brownie Cookies

 

     Hi readers! Just take a second to look at those cookies. Do they look like a brownie to you? Kind of? Great, because that's exactly what they taste like! I'm not joking, even the batter I sampled was basically brownie batter. I've always wanted to make chocolate chocolate cookies, and these were an excellent first batch. I made up all of the dough right away and passed some out to my friends! They all agreed, definitely a brownie cookie. Bailey agreed too, even though she didn't say anything. You could tell because she wouldn't let me get a shot of the batter without sticking her hand in (see below), the little stinker. :) Really though, I don't blame her. These cookies are too good to not swipe. I had originally used another recipe, but it was turning out so dry that I had to alter it quite a bit, so I won't link it. I ended up changing and substituting pretty much every ingredient. It happens though, baking can go wrong a lot of the time, but baking issues are some of the easiest to fix. It will make it that much easier the next time I make these, which will probably be very, very soon. See the recipe below and happy baking!

Ingredients:

- 1 1/2 cups of flour

- 1 cup of brown sugar

- 1/4 cup of cocoa powder

- 1 teaspoon of baking powder

- 1 teaspoon of sea salt

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- 4 tbs of butter

- 2 eggs

- 1 cup of dark chocolate chips

Instructions:

Step one - Preheat oven to 350. Then, in a small bowl, slightly soften butter for 8 seconds in the microwave and set aside.

Step two - In a small mixing bowl, stir together your flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sea salt, set aside. In a standing mixer, or with a hand mixer, mix together your brown sugar, vanilla extract and butter. Add the flour mixture and stir. Next, add your two eggs and mix until batter is smooth. Last, add your chocolate chips and mix for a few seconds until they are well incorporated into the batter.

Step three - Spoon out golf ball sized batter lumps onto your non-stick pan. This batch made about ten cookies. Bake for about 8-10 minutes and let cool for a few minutes before removing the cookies from the pan. Enjoy!
