Hi guys! Now that winter is here, I'm trying to embrace it, rather than dread it. Yes, it's cold, but that means cozy sweaters and thick socks. Yes, it's snowing and scary to drive, but it's another new thing for Bailey to experience! She's really only been in the snow once and couldn't walk, so she just sat there and felt it. In this mindset, I set out to find new cocktails to make for this time of year. While most winter ones are hot toddies and spiked hot chocolate, I wanted something refreshing. It may just be me, but when I think of a Moscow Mule, I think winter. It's probably only because of the Moscow part, but I had never made one, so I went with it. Does anyone else love an excuse to use a copper mug as well? That was, honestly, one of the most exciting parts for me. Give me all the copper! Also, the sprigs of rosemary, and the fact that grapefruit, and other citrus, are in season during the winter made it even more perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed this drink, it was tasty and the grapefruit adds a nice sweetness to the strong ginger beer. I will definitely be making this again, like tonight probably. Enjoy!
- 1.5 oz of vodka (a shot)
- 4 oz of ginger beer
- the juice of half a grapefruit
- a squeeze of lime juice
- a sprig of rosemary
Combine all ingredients (except rosemary) with ice in a cocktail shaker. Toss some ice into your mug and pour cocktail over. Garnish with the rosemary.
